I created these works with guardian angels in mind. When I think about my transition or my trans siblings, I think of angels. The armor represents the strength it takes to face a world where every day is a struggle to resist.

The feeling that stayed with me most throughout the creative process was an immense sense of love: the love involved in choosing the path of being yourself while facing the consequences imposed by the world, always holding in your heart the knowledge that we deserve to belong.

For me, it is like opening a window that had been closed for years and remembering that there is a world outside that I want to see, but that I also want to see me, regardless of the barriers between us.

It means going beyond those barriers and daring to let the love and joy that come from living as your true self speak for themselves.

I hope people and the overall society  in my country come to understand that we (trans people) deserve to exist and belong just as much as they do.

Even if they cannot fully understand our reality, that does not mean we are so different. We deserve to be respected and loved in the same way as everyone else.

I would like to help build a future where young people do not have such a difficult time finding their place.

A future where conversations about being trans are not so complicated or punished, so that we can help more people who may not yet understand who they are or who are afraid of who they are—allowing them to simply be and to live in the love and grace of being themselves.

I want us to be able to love freely, express ourselves freely, and, most importantly, contribute to the world without being discriminated against because of our identities.
